3D Art Week 2 - Proxy Cannon

The assignment was to model an old-fashioned cannon using reference photos and Nick's tutorials. I think mine turned out pretty nicely. I didn't add anything fancy, just wanted to keep it simple to continue getting used to Maya's interface. After this exercise, I feel more confident with each tool and some of the more useful hotkeys. I'm growing rather fond of 3D modelling, and I hope to one day catch up in skill level to the peers surrounding me at FIEA.

Below are two screenshots in solid wireframe mode of my cannon, ground, and plant models.

Below are two screenshots of the assets imported into Unreal. The top is actual game play, while the bottom is simply a closeup. I messed around with the materials a little to allow easy differentiation between the objects. I think the grass looks a little silly in Unreal, so if I were to use this in a game that is definitely something I would go back through and rework.
