Wood texture on the cannon model. This was a very tedious process but I like the end result. There are a few parts where I can see I became lazy. I think it would benefit from some sort of wood chipping effect on the edges and where I have some more serious divots in the wood.

RPP Round 2 - Journal menu base
Cattails the player can pick up to inspect in the game. When it is picked up, only the middle cattail and two leaves will be inspected by the player.
Menu base meant to look like a field journal. Each plant will added in the book when it is found by the player. Had a lot of fun making this and I think it looks pretty nice!

Common Art Week 4 - Drew Struzan and Composition
This week we studied Drew Struzan's famous poster designs. He is a master of compositional layout and his work is extremely well-known.
I honestly struggled a lot with this piece. I should have chosen a more stylized way to present the image, rather than just making a mediocre copy of the original. I would have enjoyed the assignment more, I think.
I believe this piece displays multiple types of composition, the first being across layout. The main characters in the scene are laid out across horizontal and vertical lines, with the attention being drawn to the middle of the page.
I could also argue that the image showcases a pyramid layout as well. Because the heads vary in size, their positioning simulates two opposing triangles that, once again, draw attentions towards the middle of the composition.

Animation Week 4 - Walk Cycle Pass #1
I thoroughly enjoyed doing this animation! I wasn't a fan of the bouncing ball, but I could see how people could want to do this animation thing after this assignment. It's not perfect, but a great start, I think.
Common Art Week 4 - Drew Struzan
This week we are studying different styles of successful composition through the movie posters of Drew Struzan. His work has influenced countless entertainment posters throughout the years.

Tech Art Week 3 - Basic Lighting
This week we learned how to create basic lighting in UE4. This level was given to us by the instructor and not created by myself.

3D Art Week 4 - ZBrush Metal Texture
Half of the cannon has been sculpted to resemble metal. Most of the surfaces are rough to suggest the cannon has been exposed to a lot of external stressors. All of the parts that are still smooth will be textured to look like wood for next week's assignment.

Animation Week 3 - Ball Bouncing Pass #2
I think this pass is worse than the first! Although I did fix the rotation using the graph editor, somehow I got my main grip off center so the ball rolls wobbly near the end. I tried squash and stretch and think it was fairly successful near the beginning. Last pass had a better ending roll, but this pass had better rotation, more even bounces, and included squash and stretch.

3D Art Week 3 - UpRes and zBrush Importing
After many painstaking hours laboring over the UV maps and crying because of Maya's unique tendencies to crash and just overall be a jerk, I have successfully upped the resolution of my cannon and uploaded it into zBrush. I have always wanted to learn 3D sculpting, so I am excited for our next assignments.
UV map of the cannon and all its little bits before upRes and smooth mesh.
I added a metallic looking texture just for funsies.

Life Drawing Week 3 - Torso and Neck Muscles
Skeleton sketches because our model was late! The rest of class was focused on the muscles of the torso and neck regions. For the last angle, I switched back to one of my favorite mediums for figure drawing: crayons.
Tech Art Week 2 - Level Design and Asset Imports
Screenshots both in game and of the editor for a level design assignment for Tech Art. This was so much fun! I made a small vegetable garden with a few apple trees about. I'd love to figure out how to make grass easier because it took forever and only looks good from a lower angle. Messed around with lighting a little to hopefully make it seem like dusk or early morning.
