RPP4 - Pirate Walk Cycle

This is my first 2D animation for a human! It took so much time. I'm happy with the result, but next time I am definitely going to try using a skeleton instead of hand drawing every single frame.

Mailing a Letter - Pass 1 Block out

Our assignment was to either lift a weight or mail a letter. I wanted to do  something a little different so I chose to mail a letter by pigeon. This is a base block out of the key poses of the animation. I am having some trouble orienting the letter once it is transferred to the bird near the end. I think I may need to create my own bird rig also; this one's legs don't move correctly when landing.

A screenshot of Zelda and the bird because they are cute.

RPP 4 Character concept

Concept for pirate character. The plan is to have a choice between male and female, so this is the latter.

Some other colors I thought about:

Animation Irish Dance Pass 3

I really haven't changed much again. This last RPP round burnt me out. I do think her weight has improved and I added small details like head and finger movement. My instructor wanted me to translate this animation, but the way I initially keyed her hips and feet made the whole process difficult and messy, so I opted to just clean up the static.

RPP3 - Game Animations

The animations I made for the game Now Playable Character. It was hard to work with these oddly proportioned characters (and bad skin weightings because of time constraints oops). They are cute and served their purpose, but boy are they rough.

RPP3 - Character Rigs

Finished skeletons and rigs of my two character assets.

I decided to try my hand at IK for the hero character. It worked pretty well, even though his legs are so stumpy.

I also rigged his hat, so I can make super cute animations with it!

RPP3 - Character Texture Maps

Here are the models textured in Substance Painter! I had a lot of fun with this. Our game is very stylized and we decided to only use base color maps, so I had to get a little creative with showing color on edges to give the illusion of shadow.

(definitely some mistakes on the hero's color map! oopsy)
